Lumi's 25th Month

Events
3/2 - birthday (chocolate cake, brunch at El Asador)
13/2 - 17/2 trip to finland, first time with own seat.
2/3 - spring carnival at Villa Luna

Toilet training
Lumi is potty trained, both daytime and nighttime. She still has accidents, but not every day. We packed away the diapers at home. At daycare they put disposable pullups on her during naps, but most of the time they are dry so they just reuse them the next day.

Food
Breakfast is normally eggs and rice and a cup of milk. She barely eats dinner, though the daycare says she plows through any meal or snack, so maybe it's our cooking that is the problem. Toward the end of the month, her eating seems to have picked up again.
7/2 - last nursing! She is weaned!
Oh wait. 27/2 she wanted to do it again. I'm not sure that she actually got any milk.

Language
Finnish - seems to understand most things people say to her, and made a lot of progress over the weekend when we were in Finland.
English - no problems, seems to be the predominant speaking language right now. She is adding adjectives now (e.g. Lumi run fast!)
Czech - no problems, and seems to understand most things people say to her. Most of her singing is in Czech.
She calls the gorilla "gogilla". :)

Learning
She calls the alphabet "abcdefg" and is now really excited when she sees letters when we are out and about. For example, when the bus goes past the Lekarna (where the sign is written in clear block letters) she points and shouts excitedly "abcdefg!" and then says "jeste-more letters." likewise, if she sees numbers (and she can't always tell them apart, but she is starting to) she gets excited and start pointing and saying numbers (not necessarily the ones she sees, and not in any particular order either -- e.g. "2, 3, 7!")

Behavior
During her sick day on 6/2, she colored her rubber pony with markers. She still has bouts of throwing things when she's feeling angry or just a little too happy. We don't like it, but sometimes it's very difficult not to laugh.
She is also kind of lazy these days. Now that the novelty of walking has worn off, she loves to be carried. The same with eating: for a while she had been insisting on doing every herself; now she quits after a couple of spoonfuls and hands her fork/spoon off to a parent. We're having a hard time getting her excited about dressing and undressing herself. I'm hoping this is just a phase.

Toys/Books/Games
She is loving puzzles, legos, and the little plastic animals. We also finally got her a toy stroller, which she loves pushing around the house. She also loves pouring from one container to another. She likes to draw too, and mostly to have people trace her hand.
Favorite book is "Kuvaleikki - 300 Sanaa!"
When she was sick, we let her watch a lot of TV (also because it kept her occupied and we were supposed to be working) and she enjoys "Shaun the Sheep" and the Moomins. She requests the Moomins by asking for either the "Muunits" or "ma ma ma ma pa pa pa pa pa" (if you know the moomin theme song, this will make sense to you)
Bath time now involves taking a couple plastic animals to "swim" with her.

Health
She ran a very high fever on 5/2, so we stayed home from school on 6/2 and then again on 8/2. she was still chipper, until saturday (9/2), so we spent the weekend at home. she napped and cried and snuggled. no fever on 10/2.

Stats
clothes: 2T in US, 92 or 98 in European
height -
weight - 11 kg
teeth - 16 (new lower fang tooth 7/2, new upper fang tooth 12/2)
naps - one in afternoon. She has been begging for a pacifier at daycare, so we gave in and let her use one, because she was refusing to sleep unless she was sucking something (fingers or a toy). on the advice of the daycare teachers, we figured it was better to go with the anatomically correct thing. it feels strange and it feels like a regression, since she gave it up voluntarily over a year ago. She has been using it at night too at home, but usually drops it after falling asleep.

Random Funny Stuff
At the veterinarian's office on 6/2, Lumi kept requesting to ride one of the other patients. It was a huge dog (maybe an Irish wolfhound?), and Lumi said several times "Lumi ride horse!"
On 10/2, I got a request while we were watching videos on youtube "jeste-more gangnam style".
