One big change this month is his interest in his father. Up until now he was pretty solidly a mama's boy, but now he will often reach for Kimmo even when he is currently playing with äiti.

Otherwise he is mostly happy, sleeping better and walking better.

weekend of 24.1 and 25.1 it seems he is getting more confident on his feet. he enjoyed getting out of the stroller and walking a bit (with assistance). also we noticed he is pulling himself up to standing often and loves playing with the walker toy.

12.2 he is now walking from a person to an object. previous he would only walk unsupported toward someone. today he happily walked back and forth from äiti to the sofa, and from äiti to the observation window at gymnastics.

Words: something like "ma" for "more", äiti, isä, nei ("no" in norwegian)
He clearly has a lot on his mind and he makes consistent sounds for a few more things (his water bottle, for example) but they are so far from intelligible that it's hard to count them.
He understands a lot, though, and will respond to yes/no questions.
Social
He loves our neighbor Joëlle and gets really excited to see her.
He will usually wave goodbye to people when we are leaving.
He shows a lot of interest in other kids at barnehage. Previously he would just watch them but now he interacts a bit more.
16-20.2 all week he cried when we said our goodbyes at barnehage, which he hadn't done in a long time
He likes: cars, the walker toy, building blocks, containers to fill and dump
He doesn't like: books
He likes to try his hand at drawing, and enjoys opening and closing the markers.
A big change this month is interest in fruit and sweet things in general. He now eagerly eats bananas and raisins.
He still heavily prefers a cup with a straw, especially at night, though he is starting to tolerate other sippy cups.

He still isn't a great sleeper. However, we can mostly count on him going to sleep in a reasonable amount of time. Some nights he wakes up a lot. Some nights he sleeps right through until 5:45 or 6:00.
Kimmo is currently the best at getting Otso to calmly go back to sleep after a night-waking.
20.1 right after barnehage he wasn't eating his usual bread+cereal+whatever and he got feverish and shaky. he just had his MMR vaccine yesterday; hopefully this is simply a reaction to that and it's not that he's getting sick again.
21.1 feverish again in the evening. another paracetamol in the butt.
22.1 he is drooling an unbelievable amount. i had already put away all the little teething bibs but if this continues i may have to get them back out.
