Otso: 3 Years, 3 Months

Summary
Otso enjoyed Christmas, and all the time with the family. It's clear that while he does well at barnehage, he still really likes time and space to go at his own pace.

Learning/Development
He enjoys counting, and likes looking at the number chart on the kitchen wall.
We also put up a little sign with the Finnish vowels and some words using the vowels, and otso referred to the "Ä" and the "Ö" as "the one with eyes". :)

Language
Apparently he is learning to make his American "t" hard like the British "t". He also doesn't know which is a "t" and which is a "d". He pronounced it "I am retty" instead of "I am ready".
He says "ei on" instead of "ei ole".

Toys/Games/Other
Favorite toys: legos, perler, anything Paw Patrol
He was introduced to ping pong in London and loved it.
7.1 we went swimming at the University pool. He loved it! He hasn't ever enjoyed the pool like this. We splashed around for about an hour.
Both kids are really into "new york city" by They Might Be Giants / Cub, and often shout-sing it.
He is back into puzzles recently, and does at least one or two every day.

Social
He had a great time with his cousins in London. He adores Elmo and has a super fun time with Veera (who is quite helpful about the little things like helping him down the stairs ).
He bites often now when he is fighting with Lumi. 7.1 gave her a vicious bite on the arm. You could see the bleeding under the skin.
He still seems to have 2 best friends at barnehage, and they usually play very nicely together.

Eating
He seems to have entered the Great Beige Food Phase. He refuses many things now, and can get quite angry when we serve him something unacceptable. He throws food, dumps plates on the table, throws silverware, etc. Sometimes he comes around after the tantrum and can be convinced to taste some. For example, on 1.1, he bit into a little potato round, sobbed, threw the potato on the floor, dumped the contents of his plate on the table, threw his fork, and tried to dump his milk. He ran to his room. Äiti came and calmed him down, he came and sat at the table, and then tried the potato again and declared it "good" and ate the remaining pieces.
Even when there isn't anger, he likes to leave in the middle of a meal with a lazy "canigofromthetable?" as he pushes himself away. then he will return later cheerfully and finish off the plate of food.

Sleeping
He mostly did a good job sleeping in to a later time in London.
Though we weren't trying to give him naps when we were out and about, he fell asleep in the stroller and was almost impossible to wake.
He wants to come to äiti's bed earlier and earlier in the night.
